Simon Walker is a Professor at the Centre for Health Economics, University of York, where he has been based since 2006. His research is focused on the evaluation of health care interventions and policies. He has expertise in economic evaluation and decision analytic modelling and has been involved in research across a wide range of diseases including cancers, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, HIV and mental health, as well as the evaluation of health care policies such as Pay for Performance schemes. Some of his recent research has focused on how economic evaluation should be used to inform multiple heterogeneous stakeholders and methods for the economic evaluation of system level policies. He has been involved in research projects and collaborations across the globe, with particular focuses on the UK and sub Saharan Africa.
