Sebastian Hinde is a Senior Research Fellow in Economic Evaluation and Health Technology Assessment (TEEHTA) in the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York. He joined TEEHTA in 2010 after completing an MSc in Health Economics. He completed his PhD in 2024 entitled Improving the relevance and suitability of cost-effectiveness analyses to inform local commissioning decisions, a worked case-study of cardiac rehabilitation in England.
Sebastian has conducted economic evaluations in a range of disease areas including lung cancer and cardiac rehabilitation. In recent years, funded by NIHR CLAHRC and ARC programmes, he has focussed on the role of economic evaluations to inform commissioning decisions made by local decision makers. He is a current member of the NIHR Health and Social Care Delivery Research funding committee.
