Naomi joined CHE in 2022 and is a Research Fellow primarily working in the economic evaluation theme.
Naomi has worked on both applied and methodological projects in health economics, in the UK and globally. Naomi has worked on the economic evalution of trials across a number of settings including Nepal, Pakistan and Bangladesh. She is currently co-leading the economics work package of an NIHR funded trial of hypertension management in Bangladesh and Pakistan (COPE-BP). She also has experience of decision modelling of ex-ante policies for population health in South Africa and Pakistan. Naomi enjoys working alongside a broad range of stakeholders and is interested in how health economics research can impact decision making.
Naomi has contributed to technology appraisals for NICE in her role as a member of one of the independent academic groups undertaking assessments and evidence reviews. She has also worked as part of the NIHR policy research unit in economic methods of evaluation in health and care interventions, a collaboration between the Universities of Sheffield and York and the Department for Health and Social Care.
Naomi is a dignity contact for the University, providing a point of contact and listening service for those experiencing bullying, harassment or hate. Within the department Naomi coordinates a coding peer support group which meets regularly.
