Anne’s principal research interests are how payments and incentives can improve the quality and coordination of health and social care, particularly for frail older people.
Current research includes:
* an investigation of the displaced demand for health and social care arising from the COVID-19 pandemic;
* understanding demand for social care for the REAL Demand unit ;
* a study on efficiency, cost and quality of mental health provision (funded by the Health Foundation);
* research on the use of healthcare prices to reduce health inequalities.
Anne is director of the NIHR policy research unit ESHCRU, a programme of research on the economics of health and social care systems. She also is a co-investigator on PREPARE, a facility that provides rapid responsive analysis for the Department of Health and Social Care.
