Ana Duarte is a Senior Research Fellow working in Economic Evaluation and Health Technology Assessment at the Centre for Health Economics, where she is based since 2012. She holds an MSc in Health Economics from the University of York, and a Pharmacy degree and a postgraduate certificate in Regulation and Evaluation of Medicines and Health Products, both from the University of Lisbon. She is a specialist in Community Pharmacy by the Pharmaceutical Portuguese Society.
Her research focuses on the development and application of decision analysis methods to inform Health Technology Assessment (HTA).
Ana is a member of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) technology appraisal committee A (since 2021) and a health economics expert for INFARMED IP, the Portuguese National Authority of Medicines and Health Products (since 2017). She is also a member of the NICE Decision Support Unit (since 2021) and a member of the Editorial Board of Value in Health Regional Issues in her role as associate editor (since 2024).
