Central Hall
Closure notice: Central Hall will be closed for 16 weeks from 28 January 2019. This is to allow the next phase of the refurbishment works to be carried out. There will be no access to Central Hall during this time but routes around the outside of the hall should be unaffected.

As the landmark building at the heart of the University, Central Hall is undergoing a series of refurbishments to provide an up-to-date, multi-use space.
Due to major University events such as Graduation and Open Days, work will be compressed between the start of Spring Term and June over three phases.
Phase 1 (completed in 2017)
- Installation of new glazing
Phase 2 (completed in June 2018)
- Upgrade of audiovisual systems
- Upgrade of parts of the auditorium
- Overhaul of the reception area making it lighter, brighter and more welcoming
Phase 3 (commencing in January 2019)
- Replacement of seating
- Installation of air conditioning
