Project overview

Part of the Department of Language and Linguistics Science, the project will create a new suite of rooms specifically designed for translation and interpretation.

Benefits

The translation and interpreting suite will be designed, equipped and configured to enable fully flexible on-site, hybrid and remote interpreting, and to act as a hub from which interpreting can be provided to other remote venues.

The facility will be primarily dedicated to interpreter training at Master’s level and will house permanent interpreting booths and industry-standard interpreting and delegate equipment.

When and where?

The new facility is being constructed on the second floor of the Spring Lane Building (on the right hand side as you look up the stairs). The construction period will start in June and continue until early August 2024.

How will it affect me?

There may be some localised noise disruption in the building during the period our contactor is on site.
