A new home for the York School of Architecture

Project Overview

By September 2025, the York School of Architecture and the Built Environment will be moving into its new home in the Piazza Building on Campus East, ready to welcome its first cohort of undergraduate students.   

Starting Spring 2025,we are refurbishing the west wing on the second floor of the Piazza building to make improvements such as installing acoustic separation and creating a large open plan professional studio environment. On the ground floor we will develop a new model making workshop and BIM suite. In line with these enhancements, there will also be infrastructure works across the Piazza building.

How will it affect me?

There will be some unavoidable disruption and building noise, mostly internal within the Piazza building, as the work progresses. Our contractor is committed to minimising this as much as possible.
