Speakers from academia, civil society, the Dutch Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the European Commission presented on their work on city-based protection of human rights defenders and refugees and talked about the idea of "human rights cities". Additionally representatives from the human rights defender and refugee communities spoke of their experiences of protection.
