Ritualising Protection Project at the WOW Film Festival
Piergiuseppe Parisi, Carolina Baltan Salazar and Pippa Cooper travelled to the University of Aberystwyth for the WOW Wales One World Film Festival.
WOW is a UK festival dedicated principally to films from Africa, Asia and Latin America
Pervivir, a film created within the framework of the Ritualising Protection Project was streamed as part of Stories of Unarmed Civilian Resistance. This series focused on civilians harnessing the power of non-violence to create safer spaces for a dignified life. Drawing from real-life experiences in Colombia, Nigeria, and Palestine, the films showcase historical resistance and innovative approaches to imagining, implementing, and sustaining peace.
Following the screening, principal investigators from the Creating Safer Spaces projects – including Piergiuseppe Parisi – spoke about the creation of the films and answered questions from the audience.
