On 22 February 2024, the University of York and the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO), signed the agreement for the Beyond Compliance Consortium Research Programme on Building Evidence on Promoting Restraint by Armed Actors. This represents the official start of a three-year programme of research and knowledge exchange that seeks to contribute to the effective prevention and reduction of humanitarian need and civilian harm and facilitate a broader protective environment in armed conflict.
Beyond Compliance Consortium members will be present at the first day of FCDO’s Conflict Cadre conference on 12 March and will host a stand on behalf of the Consortium and the exciting work to come.
