Ritualising Protection Project (RPP) - Fieldwork
A RPP research team, which included Piergiuseppe Parisi, Ana Deida Secue Rivera, Carolina Baltán Salazar, and Nicolás Braguinsky Cascini , conducted a three-month field research in the Nasa indigenous territory of Huellas Caloto (Colombia).
During the fieldwork, the researchers attended and observed community meetings, conducted interviews with indigenous authorities and elders, visited the indigenous radio station, participated in indigenous rituals, accompanied the indigenous guard, and interviewed state authorities and experts on indigenous issues in Colombia, with a view to understanding indigenous cultural and spiritual protection practices and how these protect the Nasa people in the midst of the Colombian armed conflict.
Fieldwork activities were filmed. This material will be edited in co-production with the indigenous community of Huellas Caloto and will be published on the RPP website and social media. During the fieldwork, Nicolás Braguinsky Cascini delivered a training on video-making for the community.
