New book on transformative justice and Agrarian Conflict
Lecturers from the Centre for Applied Human Rights (CAHR) have worked together on a new edited volume on 'Transformative Justice and Agrarian Conflict: Elements for a Necessary Debate'.
The new edited volume on Transformative Justice and Agrarian Conflict: Elements for a Necessary Debate’ has been co-edited by CAHR lecturers Eric Hoddy and José Antonio Gutiérrez Danton (CAHR Lecturer from September 2023), alongside Daire McGill, Oxford University. The book is published in Spanish with Santo Tomás University, Colombia, where a large part of the student body comes from conflict affected areas. The project was conceived for introducing and gathering some initial reflections on the global debate on ‘transformative justice’ and its relation to agrarian conflict and change.
The new edited volume includes contributions from:
- Rocío Del Pilar Peña Huertas (Assistant Professor, Rosario University, Colombia, and Deputy Director of the Land Observatory)
- Irene Vélez-Torres (Minister for Mining and Energy in the Government of Colombia)
- Diana Marcela Muriel Forero (activist, feminist, and lawyer with the Colombian Commission of Jurists)
