New campus art trail
The first exhibits to form part of a new campus art trail will be installed on 8 February in the Spring Lane Building.
The campus art trail is initiated and led by Sara De Jong and Indrajit Roy with the support of Helena Cox the university art curator and the Estates team. The trail showcases art linked to research projects at the University. CAHR has a number of pieces that will be included in the trail including work from Arctivism, the Human Rights City Network, the Generating Respect project, and the Security of Defenders project. The pieces to go on display first are from Alice Nah’s Security of Defenders project and include paintings, poetry, and the quilt for human rights defenders. The artists involved in this project drew inspiration from verbatim poems composed by Juliana Mensah from transcripts and notes of interviews with defenders at risk in this project.
