A former CAHR fellow from Syria will perform some of his poetry and other writings that were published in Defending : Writes, a collection of writings by human rights defenders based at CAHR in spring 2012, during Manchester Refugee Week. The event will take place at 12 noon - 4 pm on Saturday 21 June at the People's History Museum in Manchester.
The event will celebrate the positive contributions refugees have made to UK society and history. It showcases the talent and skills of refugee artists and local communities through music, dance, film and poetry.
The event is organised by British Red Cross, Mancester Refugee Support Network, Pod Collective, and Regional Asylum Activism Project.
