Supannee saw the three year KTP Associate role with the company Gaist in a job advert. At the time Supannee had her PhD and had worked in just one previous position. After her time as the KTP Associate at Gaist Supannee was offered a position at the company which she accepted.
How did being an Associate in a KTP benefit your career?
“Being involved in the KTP project provided me with the unique opportunity to work in both an industrial environment and academia which helped me to decide which types of jobs I would like to pursue. KTP equipped me with all the resources I needed to enhance my skills, not only to accomplish my project, but to further my career as a Computer Vision Scientist. Best of all was having advice from both company and academic advisors which in the end helped shape my project to be successful as a commercial product supported by publications in one of the top journals in the field.”
What was the best thing for you about being involved in their KTP?
“KTP offers very generous funding for personal development and I had full control over how I wished to utilise it. I used this funding to enroll on a number of courses in my field and other advanced technologies, to attend a few top conferences, and to obtain some resources I found useful to further enhance my skills.”
What would you say to someone considering applying for a KTP Position?
"KTP was one of the best opportunities I have had. During my time as a KTP associate, KTP offered me a unique opportunity to receive extensive professional training from both company and academic advisors which best equipped me with all the skills I needed to further my career. It was a privilege for me to be a KTP associate and I definitely recommend it to anyone considering applying for a KTP Associate role."
