Delivery
This course is taught in-person at the University of York, with some online tutorials via Zoom. You'll be taught across five months.
Accreditation
This course is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute. You'll have the option to gain a Level 5 award in Leadership and Management after meeting all requirements.

Course content
Throughout your course, you'll enhance your ability to critically evaluate problems and communicate with impact. Taught modules will give you an in-depth grasp of the principles of management.
Your course will contain a blend of theory and practical activities. You'll have opportunities to develop your communication, problem-solving and motivation skills, with expert insights from our tutors.
- Module one
Chart the evolution of leadership theory, including current best practice techniques. Problem-solve and reflect on the changing leadership landscape. - Module two
Gain an in-depth understanding of what it means to be a human-centric leader. This module includes tools to help you understand your leadership style and the impact it has on others, as well as consideration of how to create a psychologically safe team environment. - Module three
Evaluate shared goals and the building blocks behind strategy. Use psychometric tools to measure individual and team performance. - Module four
Understand how your teams react to change and evaluate the best communication methods to manage change successfully. Evaluate the skills needed to influence in both a face to face and digital environment. Consider the best methods to deliver effective feedback to motivate and engage others. - Module five
Boost your understanding of well-being and resilience in the workplace. Learn about stress management techniques to support both yourself and your team.
The day was a really good opportunity to reflect on ourselves, our style of management and motivations. The hands-on and collaborative activities made the day much more engaging than other courses I've been on.

Tutorials and supervisions
Our approach to teaching will provide you with the knowledge, opportunities, and support you need to flourish. You'll be able to discuss assignments with your tutor in your tutorials. These tutorials will be delivered online via zoom.
Assessment
You'll submit a 4,000 word assignment, which involves undertaking leadership tasks in your organisation and project reflection.

Price: the average price with CMI accreditation: £1500 per person
