The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) Program is designed to equip you with the kind of expertise and real-world skills in investment analysis that will help you advance your career and achieve your professional goals.
For eligible University of York students, an exclusive opportunity is available to undertake Level I of the CFA Program course through its collaboration with Fitch Learning, a leader in financial education and a CFA Institute Approved Prep Provider with a successful track record of over 20 years.
To be eligible students will have to be top performers in semesters one modules and be registered in one of the following University of York Master Programmes: MSc Accounting and Finance; MSc Corporate Finance; MSc Finance; MSc Finance and Investments; MSc Finance and Management; MSC Finance and Investments and Economics; MSc Financial Economics.
Level I of the CFA Program will be taught by a combination of expert instructors from Fitch Learning onsite at the University of York and, access to our fully adaptive eLearning platform and mobile app offering a fully immersive learning experience to best equip you to sit the exam.
This includes:
- Fitch Learning Cognition: An adaptive online learning platform and mobile app that personalises the study experience, focusing on areas of improvement to ensure comprehensive curriculum coverage.
- Personalised Timelines and Performance Diagnostics: Customised study schedules with progress tracking for efficient learning.

The CFA Program curriculum is focused on ten key topics. Level I focuses on understanding the tools and concepts related to investment valuation and portfolio management.

- Bachelor's degree or be in the final year of bachelor's degree
Estimated study time: 300 hours
* A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charter is a designation given to those who have completed the CFA® Program (Levels I, II and III) and completed acceptable work experience requirements.
