Biography

Nicola joined the School for Business and Society in October 2012 in order to complete a PhD in Management on a part-time basis. Since then she has combined teaching at the School, studying and running her own consultancy business, completing her PhD thesis in 2018.

Her professional background lies in marketing and strategy and encompasses both business to consumer (b2c) and business to business (b2b) environments. Over a career spanning 30 years she has worked extensively in both the public and private sectors and has developed business and marketing strategies and plans across five continents.

Nicola’s PhD research focused on managerial learning and knowledge creation and illustrates how changes in organisational structure can lead to unanticipated, unintended and unwelcome changes in a firm’s managerial knowledge base.
