Biography

I work as part of the DACS team, supporting master’s students, in my role as a Personal Supervisor and Academic Skills Tutor in the School for Business and Society. I have a degree in English literature from Bristol University and a Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. 

Prior to York, I taught Academic English at Leeds Trinity University and Leeds Beckett University, where I was also a teacher trainer and materials developer. Before returning to the UK, I worked for 9 years for the British Council, teaching English and teacher training, mainly in Barcelona, but also for summer schools in Egypt and Hong Kong. I am interested in all aspects of supporting students to develop confidence and proficiency with oral and written academic skills.
