Helena joined the University of York in June 2019. She has a doctorate in Finance from Manchester Business School and has been teaching in UK Higher education since 2005. Before joining York, Helena held academic positions at both the University of Manchester, University of Strathclyde and more recently at the University of Bradford where alongside with her teaching and research she held the positions of Programme Leader and Director of Undergraduate Studies. Helena is a Fellow of the British Higher Education academy and she is very experienced in the design, development, delivery and management of Finance modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and both nationally and internationally.
Helena’s research lies in the area of executive compensation and corporate governance. She is also interested in studying the effect of adaptive learning tools on student performance. She has published in several international journals.
