Caroline Glendinning is Emeritus Professor of Social Policy and an Academician of the Academy of Learned Societies in the Social Sciences. Caroline was Professor of Social Policy in the Social Policy Research Unit from 2004-2014. She led SPRU's Department of Health funded research programme 'Choice and Independence Across the Lifecourse' from 2004-2011. From 2009-20014 she was Associate Director of the NIHR School for Social Care Research and lead SSCR's Research Programme in SPRU. Caroline was Chair of the UK Social Policy Association, 2008-2011.
