European Risk Research Network
The European Risk Research Network (ERRN) was established in 2006 with the aim of stimulating cross-disciplinary research in the area of risk management and providing an exceptional training ground for the next generation of academic researchers, regulators and practitioners.
The network includes academics and industry experts from the disciplines of accounting, auditing, accounting control, financial economics and mathematical finance, and the research is both quantitative and qualitative in style.
The EU's Marie Curie Actions programme provided the network with the funding to run the first four linked conferences on risk management systems, governance and internal control. Since 2010 the network has been self-sustaining, aided by sponsorship from major professional bodies and accounting firms. The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), a member of IFAC and a leading global professional accounting body, is an associate partner to the network.
