Bioeconomy and smart sustainable food systems: a natural convergence? A global and UK perspective
A sustainable Bioeconomy perspective is expected to play a major role in the transition towards smart and sustainable food systems. However, in the UK and across the world, several questions remain unanswered for food supply chain actors to uptake bioeconomy principles and create more sustainable practices for food systems.
The SFN+ is delighted to invite you to join our online expert panel to discuss the potential contributions of embracing a ‘Bioeconomy’ perspective to ongoing efforts for the transition towards smart and sustainable food systems. We have invited a group of experts to discuss the challenges, trade-offs and opportunities that arise around the interaction and interrelations of the sustainable Bioeconomy paradigm and the ongoing efforts for building smart and sustainable food systems. We aim to share ideas around what biological resources to use, which strategies for the conservation of the biodiversity, and which technological innovations are leading to circularity across food systems.

- Dr Parag Acharya - Natural Resources Institute, University of Greenwich
