Changes to our reprographics service

Starting in January 2014, we will be making a number of changes to our reprographics service.

Many things have changed since we last reviewed our service, including our equipment and the costs associated in supplying reproduced original documents. There has also been a change in the type of copies our customers require - nearly all of the orders we receive direct at the Borthwick are now requests for digital copies.

We will still continue to offer a number of on-site reprographics facilities for visitors to the Borthwick including Photography Permits and the use of our Microfilm Printer-Reader. The prices for these services will remain unchanged.

British Origins

Probate documents and Marriage Bonds purchased through our partners British Origins (http://www.origins.net) will be supplied digitally only from January onwards. If you would like to order paper copies please contact us directly and we will be happy to supply details of costs.

New Services

In January we will be offering a new reprographics service for customers wishing to order copies of Patient Records from our Hospital archives (pre-Data Protection Act). Where they survive, we can now supply a copy of a patient’s Admission and Case note records for a combined price of £15.00 (digital only).

Price Changes

With some small exceptions, the Borthwick’s prices for reprographics services have remained largely the same for over 15 years. In this time, however, our costs (material, staffing, postal) have increased considerably.

From 1 January 2014 onwards our prices will be changing to the following:
