I’m Collections Information Archivist here at the Borthwick Institute, with additional responsibility for our volunteering programme. I joined the Borthwick in March 2014 as a Searchroom Assistant, having recently completed my Archive and Records Management diploma at the University of Dundee. Prior to moving to York, I volunteered at Wiltshire Museum, Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre, the Science Museum Library and Archive, and Caernarfon Record Office.
From 2015-2017 I was Genesis Project Archivist, a 2 year project to create the Institute’s first online catalogue using AtoM, or Access to Memory, a web based, open source application for archival description and access. Then from 2017-2019 I catalogued the archives of the Rowntree family and Trusts as part of a Wellcome Trust funded project to improve access to archives relating to the social sciences.
My primary research interests are the Crewe family of Crewe Hall, Cheshire; women in the archives; and the history of early modern Wales.
