Profile

Biography

As Records Manager and University Archivist, I lead a Records Management service that works with others across the University who help inform records management policies and procedures. We provide advice and support on all aspects of data management and retention, in line with the University's Information and Records Management Policy, and Records Retention Schedule.

I manage and care for the University's own archive, to ensure that the University’s past is preserved and made accessible for current and future generations. This involves working collaboratively with departments, student societies and alumni to build an inclusive archive that better represents the disparate histories of its communities and its development over time.

As an archivist, I also look after the various archival collections relating to Southern Africa which grew from the research and collecting activity of the University's former Centre for Southern African Studies.

My research background is in late medieval ecclesiastical history and editing. I have also previously worked at the University of Warwick’s Modern Records Centre, where I worked on trade union archives and was University Archivist and Records Manager. I have also previous experience in Data Protection and Freedom of Information roles.
