Clinical
The CBR team will bridge the gap between population, clinical and experimental haematology, priming the expansion of haematology research in Yorkshire the Humber and Lincolnshire.
The Clinical Department of Haematology, Castle Hill Hospital at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) is a large, busy and expanding unit comprising clinicians and clinical academic researchers from the Trust and Hull York Medical School.
The Department has a direct catchment population of 1.2 million people from diverse populations including urban inner cities, rural areas and coastal communities in East Yorkshire, Humberside and North Lincolnshire.
These populations are incredibly diverse, including areas with high levels of co-morbidities, and low employment opportunities, but also rural and suburban areas which are relatively affluent.
Engagement of clinical departments with research agendas has been proven to improve patient-related outcomes and this is a key driver in HUTH’s research philosophy.
