The BACH1 pathway in cancer and its therapeutic potential

My lab is interested in obtaining a detailed understanding of cellular stress response pathways in cancer, looking into key master regulators of stress responses (ie NRF2, BACH1 and HSF1) as well as upstream regulatory pathways and downstream effectors.

In this talk, I will focus on the transcription factors NRF2 and BACH1 and their role in promoting cancer metastasis; I will summarise our work looking for novel BACH1 inhibitors and the potential therapeutic benefit of such compounds, especially as anti-metastatic drugs in lung cancer.
