Speaker(s): Dr Ruth Wade, ADAS, Helsby, Cheshire
ADAS provides independent crop research with the aim to enhance crop yields whilst making cropping practices more sustainable. We work with organisations including government departments, Universities, NGOs, grower levies, suppliers, traders, processors and retailers to experimentally test innovative cropping and landscape management practises in the field. ADAS has extensive experience of running countrywide field-scale experiments with skilled fieldwork teams located across the country (more than 17,000 plots annually). We have strong relationships with growers and are experienced in distilling research findings into practical messages and transferring these to the farming industry including writing growth guides for wheat, barley and oilseed rape. We will present an overview of our facilities, current research projects and our insights that are helping farmers to increase yields.
