FTD- and ALS-causing mutations in CHMP2B and ANXA11 impact a common pathway of membrane repair

Tuesday 16 April 2024, 1.00PM to 2:30pm

Speaker(s): Dr Jeremy Carlton, The Francis Crick Institute / King's College London

ESCRT-III is an ancient membrane remodelling machinery that has been co-opted through evolution to perform a variety of cellular membrane remodelling processes. Here we explore pathogenic FTD-causing mutations in the ESCRT-III subunit CHMP2B and use them to understand how cells respond to, and repair, damaged membranes.
