Stress is capable of affecting anyone if the level of pressure becomes too great for an individual to cope with, and this level will vary from person to person
Staff in the Department at particular risk include:
members of staff who have less control over their work activities or future development
those with repetitive or potentially boring jobs
those responsible for achieving results, reaching targets and meeting strict deadlines e.g. Researchers / Line Managers / Academic Group Supervisors
users of computers for prolonged periods of time- the health hazards (including mental stress) from use of computers is well known and needs to be managed by good job organisation (e.g. frequent breaks, task rotation)
