Information for users of latex gloves

All users of latex gloves need to be given information and instruction on:

  • the possible harmful effects of using latex gloves
  • typical symptoms of a reaction to latex
  • measures taken to avoid or minimise exposure to latex gloves
  • arrangements for monitoring health problems associated with latex glove use
  • arrangements for reporting health problems associated with latex glove use

The leaflet Latex gloves information sheet (PDF , 172kb) should be issued to all users of latex gloves as part of the local health and safety induction training given to all workers before starting work in the Department.
