Guidelines for risk assessment of activities involving chemicals

All activities involving hazardous substances (including chemicals) must be risk assessed before use. However, the Department of Biology has adopted a flexible, pragmatic approach to risk assessment of chemicals in recognition of the fact that many activities involve the use of small quantities in routine, well-practiced procedures that present an inherent low risk.
