What is Genetic Modification?
The GMO Regulations define genetic modification as "any alteration of the genetic material (DNA or RNA) of an organism using a method that does not occur naturally by mating and / or recombination". GMOs, therefore, are organisms whose genes have been artificially altered to modify their characteristics in some way or other.
