GenerationResearch - Masters by Research in Biology

Three fully-funded (UKRI stipend, tuition fees, project costs) Masters by Research places available in the Department of Biology, University of York, for 2022

One project is focused on biomedical science, investigating clinical and biological data in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients, also working with bioinformaticians at VISFO contributing to health App development.

The second project focuses on plant biology, looking at the genes involved in responses to sunlight in order to develop more effective vertical farming methods, giving the student an opportunity to perform RNASeq, qPCR, and to work with Vertically Urban.

The third project is looking at new approaches to grow stem cells for regenerative medicine, looking at growing HSCs from UCB for improved transplantation purposes, working alongside the Francis Crick Institute, the Anthony Nolan Trust and Plasticell inc.

Open to students that fit widening participation criteria until Friday 15 July 2022, 11.59pm.

Students may apply for only one project.
