Paynter Scholarship
For postgraduate students in the School of ACT.
Awarded in memory of Prof John Paynter OBE. Paynter was appointed lecturer in the music department at the University of York in 1969 under the scholar and composer Wilfrid Mellers. As Professor of Music Education, Paynter assumed leadership of the department in 1983 and remained at York until his retirement in 1994.
Open to EU, International (non-EU) and UK (home) students.
Open to students in the School of Arts and Creative Technologies.
You must be a student or prospective student of a postgraduate course in the School of ACT, University of York.

Applications should clearly state your case for the award. Give a summary of your research, including your goals and prospective outcomes. You should also describe your achievements to date and your proposed or existing activities, and outline how your work will fit with the ethos and research aims of the School of Arts and Creative Technologies.
