We publish high quality scholarly performing editions of music composed before 1800.
With leading experts in the field editing each edition, we aim to increase access to high quality early music performances.
The main guideline for the editorial board is to make the editions performer-friendly and available not only in various formats (eg with or without a blank line above a figured bass line for an individual's own realisation) but also with specialised information on matters of performance (pitch, forces, pronunciation, context).
All editions include full prefatory information: editorial method and commentary as well as relevant performing information (scoring, original forces, pitch, context). Composer biographies are included. Translations are also provided and may be used with appropriate acknowledgement.
