Storytelling, Fairytales & ADHD: Adapting Narratives for Neurodivergent Audiences
Supervisor: Dr Mariana Lopez
In my thesis, I explore the fairy tale narrative and its' potential for being structurally beneficial for neurodivergent audiences, specifically audiences with ADHD. I also investigate media accessibility and the benefits of improving attention retention in audiences of media.
I originally studied theatre, where in this subject I achieved both a BA and MA degree. I then completed my PGCE and became a qualified teacher, before staring my PhD at York later that year. I have interests in accessibility and disability, and how we can make an impact in these areas. In my spare time, I partake in arts and craft activities as I find them relaxing and enjoy being creative.
