Thesis Title & Description

A Cartography of Elsewhere-ing: Exploring and visualising the space between connectedness with Nature.

  • Supervisor: Debbie Maxwell

This research aims to identify and explore opportunities for visual place-based interventions and strategies that promote a more positive and sustainable relationship between the human and other-than-human world. It examines and maps how the act and practice of ‘elsewhere-ing’ might shape targeted environments and utilises visual, graphic and cartographic methodologies such as systems of graphic symbols used to convey artifacts and phenomena as a means of interpreting human-environment relationships.
