Thesis Title & Description

Exploring the role of the self-shooter in producing short form narrative.

  • Supervisor: Matt Brannan & Simon Van Der Borgh

This research is exploring the role of self-shooting camera operators and the development of the technology that supports them. While valued collaborations can have a major impact on a film’s design and production process, we are asking what happens when this is taken away, limited, or refocussed with technological support? By exploring the limitations inherit with isolated creation as well as the possibilities it can afford, we hope to better understand the place of small-scale production.
