Biography

Andrew Vickers (known to all as ‘Vic’) is Lecturer in Writing for Screen and Stage here at York, and has also taught screenwriting at the Universities of Cumbria and Bolton, the National Media Museum in Bradford, and the Northern Film School in Leeds, where he took his Masters in Screenwriting, winning the David Higham Script Prize for his graduation script.

Vic worked with director Shane Meadows developing the script for BAFTA-winning film THIS IS ENGLAND, and has written film scripts for companies including Warp Films, Shudder Films, Bedlam Productions, Bigger Pictures, Union Pictures and the Bond producers EON Productions. He has also worked as a script consultant for the British Film Institute, Creative England, iFeatures, Screen Yorkshire, Film London’s Microwave and London Calling strands, and BBC Films.
