I completed my PhD at the University of York in 2022, co-supervised by the departments of Music and Sociology. My doctoral research concerned the mediation of the posthumous careers of female singers who had died of drug overdose or related complications. Following this, I taught on the music industries at the University of Glasgow, before re-joining the School of Arts and Creative Technologies in February 2024.
