Aurora Orchestra premiere Martin Suckling's The Wolf, the Duck and the Mouse
The Aurora Orchestra conducted by Geoffrey Patterson premiere Martin Suckling's The Wolf, the Duck and the Mouse at London's Royal Festival Hall.
On the 4 March Aurora Orchestra premiere The Wolf, the Duck and the Mouse by Martin Suckling. This new work is for children aged four to eight and is based on the book by Mac Barnett and illustrator Jon Klassen. Zwelya Mitchell Dos Santos narrates this 25-minute piece and it is directed by Poppy Burton-Morgan. The work was commissioned by the Aurora Orchestra with support from the Vaughan Williams Foundation.
The story follows a mouse which is swallowed by a wolf, however the mouse discovers he's not alone; a duck is also inside the belly of the beast. They both find that life inside a wolf is pretty good as they no longer have the fear of being eaten up.
