University of York Lecturer and historical clarinettist Emily Worthington joins the international jury of the 2024 International Young Artists Competition organised by the National Centre for Early Music.

University of York Lecturer and historical clarinettist Emily Worthington joins the international jury of the 2024 International Young Artists Competition organised by the National Centre for Early Music. A prestigious event as part of this year's York Early Music Festival, the competition brings together eight talented ensembles from Switzerland, Germany and the UK, selected from a pool of almost fifty applications worldwide. This year's finalists span mediaeval, renaissance, baroque and classical specialisms in their historical performance practice. They are: Trio Pellegrino, [hanse] Pfefferey, Apollo's Cabinet, Ensemble Bastion, Ayres Extemporae, Friederich Nebelmeer Ensemble, pseudonym and Rubens Rosa.

As part of the jury, Emily will scrutinise their performances in the final on Saturday 13 July and help to crown the winners of the competition's four prizes.
