The TFTI community are deeply saddened by the news of one of the department’s most ardent supporters, Ken Dixon. Former Vice-Chancellor Ron Cooke has given tribute to Ken and his support of the university.
Michael Cordner, the Ken Dixon Professor of Drama, says
‘Ken Dixon was an inspirational figure, who played a crucial role in the foundation of TFTI. He supported its work with generous endowments, for which we are deeply grateful. But, equally importantly, he was always available to offer experienced and reassuring advice in moments of difficulty during its planning and early development, and steadfastly maintained his commitment to what we were seeking to achieve. Ken, with his equally enthusiastic and supportive wife Pat, has been a constant presence at our events, talking with energy and a sense of celebration to current students about their work. He will be greatly missed. A very special man.’
