Event details

Join us on Thursday 9th March where we will be hosting a ‘Women in Games’ panel event. We will be discussing all of the guests' careers, challenges they have faced, and advice when looking for your first role after you graduate.

The evening will also include a Q+A followed by a drinks reception.

Panel guests include:

Dr Hailey Austin

Dr Hailey Austin is a Lecturer in Visual Media and Culture at Abertay University in Dundee Scotland. She loves comics and games and has somehow managed to make them her career. She became a Women in Games Ambassador 2 years ago when working as a researcher into China’s Creative Industries. Her writing focuses on marginalised voices in the creative industries around the world.

Charline Foch

Charline stumbled into the game industry by accident, and stayed there by choice. She worked at Sandbox Interactive for over a year, where she did Customer Support and also touched upon QA, Community Management, and content creation, before transitioning back into academia at the Centre for Intelligent Games and Game Intelligence as a PhD researcher focusing on player experience and game design. More recently, she worked with the European project Play On! which examines how to merge immersive technologies and game design with theatre.

Yasmina Fadel

Yasmina entered the games industry two years ago, after graduating her MA in Virtual and Augmented Reality at York St. John University. She is a Level Designer for Fruity Systems, an independent VR game developer currently working on Space Salvage, a darkly comedic sci-fi adventure game aimed at the Meta Quest 2. Thanks to being part of an indie team, Yasmina has had the opportunity to garner experience in different creative sectors within the development pipeline such as Game Design, Business Development, Finance, Marketing and Environment Art.

Jess Morley

Jess is currently working at Deep Silver as their Global Influencer Assistant. Her expertise mainly lies in working with creators and agencies to produce content that aligns with our brands and overall marketing and community efforts. She has been in the gaming industry for 2 years, and has had a range of experience within marketing and community management.

Caitlin McDaid
Caitlin works across Film, TV and Games from the audio post-side and has worked with multiple AAA game developers from around the globe. Caitlin currently works at Film Soho in London, which is an umbrella company that covers everything from pre-production, production, virtual production, post-production, distribution and international distribution. Caitlin specialises in recording engineering, field recording and dialogue editorial.
