Event details

Essie's lost her job. Her girlfriend's left. But she's alright. Except lately she feels more like a chair than a person. One of those folding chairs. Solid one minute. And then…

Margaret Perry's play Collapsible is a funny, furious monologue about holding on in this collapsing world. It premiered at the 2019 VAULT Festival in London and now will grace the black box stage at the University of York’s School of Art and Creative technologies under the direction of Nicole Kilama.

As a part of Kilama’s Business of the Creative Industries individual project, this play is being directed with the intention of understanding how audiences engage differently when watching a performance live against online. All audience members are invited to participate in a focus group following the performance to discuss their engagement with various elements. Please note that the performance will be recorded for further research purposes.

Doors will open at 18:00, with the performance commencing at 18:30. Run time is approximately 1 hour 10 mins and the focus group will not exceed 30 minutes.

If you have any further queries please contact Nicole Kilama nk1044@york.ac.uk
