Join University of York alumna and casting associate Lily Caisley for a Q&A covering all things casting. Lily will provide an insight into the casting process for commercial theatre, drawing on her experience working for Cameron Mackintosh Limited. As well as discussing how to get into roles within casting in the industry, she will talk about what casting associates look for from actors during the casting process. Lily will also share her own experience of entering the industry and discuss different routes into the theatre sector.

About the speaker

Lily Caisley

Lily Caisley is currently Casting Associate at Cameron Mackintosh Limited. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in Writing, Directing and Performance from the University of York in 2016. Her most recent work as a Casting Associate includes Hamilton (Victoria Palace Theatre & UK Tour), Les Misérables (Sondheim Theatre & UK Tour), The Phantom of the Opera (His Majesty’s Theatre), Mary Poppins (Prince Edward Theatre & UK Tour) and Oliver! (Chichester/Gielgud Theatre). Previous projects for Bill Kenwright Limited include Heathers the Musical (Theatre Royal Haymarket), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (UK Tour), Evita (Phoenix Theatre & UK and International Tour), Cabaret (UK Tour), Ghost the Musical (UK and International Tour) and Cilla the Musical (UK Tour).
