Laura and Her Jacques

A comedy in 4 Jacques

How does one respond when their lover tells them they are leaving? Given the opportunity to take their place, what would you do differently?

This is the question posed in the first ever English translation and production of the French comedy "Laure and the Jacques" (fr: Laure et les Jacques), written by Gabriel Arout.

Laura and Jacques are happily married, or so it would seem. One fateful day Laura announces she has found someone else - how will Jacques react? Four different versions of Jacques squabble over how the other should behave. Each one takes a turn replaying the scene to act as they think the other Jacques should have done; the stoic, the sleaze, the fool, the brute.

A very French comedy; at times light, others dark, but always too dreadfully witty for its own good.
